I am very pleased to share good news with you about an innovative concept of Laxmi Pratisthan to address the most sensitive issue in Nepal. As you know, fatalities of road accidents are increasing day by day. Death and injuries from road accidents exceed the number of those died and injured during the ten years armed conflicts. But neither the public nor the Government & its authorities are paying serious attention to this matter.
Laxmi Pratisthan has been working for traffic awareness since its inspection. Now, it has realized the need of correcting the traffic system through sensible and competent drivers. Tying up the need with women empowerment, it is working upon a concept of developing 1000 competent and disciplined women drivers (from rural communities), equipped with the knowledge of driving, traffic system, automobile and Martial Arts (for personal and professional safety).
Since it is a costly and challenging project, we need a great sum of money .The three month training cost is calculated at Rs. 28,700per person. Total funding requirement to produce 1,000 women drivers as targeted over three years period would be around Rs. 28.8million.
The concept is being shared with various organizations and individuals in and across the country. We are very hopeful for the success of this project as we know there are thousands of well wishers who love us dearly. We would like to appeal you for your kind support.
