Kathmandu : She has got a soulful voice. When this voice met a tender and poignant song, All Of Me by John Legend, something magical was created. The acoustic rendition of the song is surreal. This is the reason why Nepali songstress Astha Tamang-Maskey is one of the finalists in Ryan Seacrest’s March Music Madness — one of the top seven best covers of Legend’s single All Of Me.
It is one of the contests where one can vote for their favourite cover of Legend’s All Of Me. The winner will be announced on April 8. Her competitors are Diogo Picarra, John Jorge, Lauren Braganza, Michael Minelli, Tiago Braga and Steve Epting.
“1 more day till they announce the winner! #scared #really scared,” she writes in her official Facebook page on March 7.
Tamang-Maskey is a Nepali independent singer and songwriter based in Toronto, Canada. She is a Nepali singer and songwriter popular with albums like Gotta Be Love and Ma Ek Sapana under her belt.
All Of Me cover contest was launched in the first week of March. On March 8, Tamang-Maskey had expressed on selection on her official Facebook page as, “Just got some amazing news! My cover of John Legend’s All of Me has been selected for Ryan Seacrest’s March
Music Madness contest!
So exciting!”
The contest had collected 25 of the best covers of All Of Me for the first round.
And the singer and her cover went through three rounds to reach the top seven in the final. There are several other such competitions where many covers of various artistes are being voted
for by fans to crown the best cover. Fans can vote every 12 hours for their favourite cover.
