Kathmandu : In Shantiko Lagi Sikchya — Education for Peace Tour 2013, popular Nepali band Nepathya shook the Beena Cinema Hall at Lalbandi, Sarlahi on December 13. Longing for peace and right to education for all the children and voicing the same, the band enthralled the locals in the fourth concert of the tour.
As per a press release issued by nepa~laya on Deccember 12, the band succeeded to garner the love from the audience in the tour. The concert witnessed the crowd out of their seats as the concert pumped up with fervour while 90 per cent of them were dancing by the end of it.
“I hadn’t thought that the place which was fun to pass by while travelling the highway had so much interest in music,” the release quotes Amrit Gurung, the front-man of the band as saying after the event.
“Lalbandi has cast such a spell that we want to come back here.”
The town in which east west highway penetrates is famous for vegetables production and selling.
During the concert, Gugung had expressed his disappointment in not visiting the place before. But he entertained the locals with their songs. Also the song Rato Ra Chandra Surya was performed. Alongside music, Gurung even urged “people of varied language and castes to live together”.
The concert was organised by Society Bachat Tatha Rin Sahakari Sanstha.
An organiser Krishna Thapa revealed, “We had gone to Sindhuli to listen to the band in the last Education for Peace Tour,” adding “Today our dream has come true of inviting Nepathya to Lalbandi and listening to them.”
Moreover, the impact of the concert was great as per the press statement. Youth in groups stayed back for 45 minutes to sing songs like Resham, Bheda Ko Una Jasto, Taal Ko Pani on top of their voice.
The concert was one of a kind held in Lalbandi. The proceeds from the concert will be used for the education of poor and war displaced students.
Before Lalbandi, folk rock band Nepathya had rocked Damak and Birat Chowk on December 10 and 8 respectively. The band will perform at Taulihawa, Kapilvastu on December 14. HNS :
